Though the awarding of the trophy was “unofficial,” the enthusiasm at the first ever gathering of Boston’s displaced football fans bodes well for another softball tournament before next season.
We reached out to leaders of the Steelers, Dolphins and Cowboys fans in Boston (as well as some others that we hope to have join us in 2016), and the turnout was great for a first of its kind event. Plans are already in the works for another touch football game once football season gets underway. For the Ravens, hopefully that means we’ll put on a better showing than we did at last year’s gathering (losing by less than 40 points would be a step in the right direction.

The Ravens didn’t bring home the cup, but the #CassidyCup was a success nonetheless. #Boston. #Ravens pic.twitter.com/jBXVxtD3TJ — Jordan R. Mayblum (@TownsmanJordan) August 9, 2015
